Her Morning Elegance- Oren Lavie

This beautifully crafted stop-motion music video, has steadily gained popularity over YouTube. Partly created by singer/song writer Oren Lavie, this film harmonizes wonderfully with the soft melody of Lavie’s voice.

Unlike many recent stop-motion videos, Her Morning Elegance skillfully and smoothly edits each photograph into a truley breathtaking video. Whilst tackling difficult maneuvers, the lighting also remains remarkably constant throughout the course of the video. Retrospectively, this video suggests that one does not need an over-sized budget to create a moving and inspirational music video.

Overall Lavie’s refined and simplistic style has successfully produced a video that, as a whole compliments his soft indie/folk song. One can appreciate this video when comparing it to theĀ  overwhelmingly abundance of garish and over-the-top videos, recently produced by such artists as Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj.

Sleeping…. it really is underestimated.

One can only truly appreciate the beauty of sleep, once one is denied it. Well at least that’s what I believe! and I’m sure most bakers, bartenders and construction workers would loudly praise ‘AMEN!’.I will tell you this, roaming the streets with eyeshalf shut at 5:30 in the morning is not a pleasant feeling.

Under a foggy haze, my mind often wonders to the first neanderthals. Did they leave their prehistoric caves before daylight?…. NO, I’m sure they didn’t. Their knowledge of nightly predators and freezing temperatures attains to our now primitive fear of darkness from birth.

But now, with electricity turning night into day our world has transformed into a 24-7 lifestyle. With our growing needs substantially outweighing the hours in a day, we become how ever unnatural it feels dwellers of the night and early mornings.

I guess what I’m truly trying to say is, when given the chance, enjoy sleeping like a sloth!

Even Hemingway agrees….

I love sleep. My life has the tendency to fall apart when I’m awake, you know?”
